In 2008, Dr. Lisa Walker established the Jamaica Symphony Orchestra (JSO) as a pioneering force in Jamaica’s classical music scene. An internationally recognized violinist and string coach, Dr. Walker brought her vision to life by creating a professional symphony orchestra that uniquely blends classical and Caribbean sounds. The JSO is renowned for its groundbreaking five-section design, which includes a steel pan section and has been celebrated as a remarkable success.

With the launch of the Jamaica Symphony Orchestra Academy, Lisa continues her commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians. Our academy welcomes individuals of all ages and skill levels, offering comprehensive training and development to help everyone realize their musical potential. Together, we are shaping the future of classical music in Jamaica and beyond.
