BREAKING NEWS!
Los Angeles, October 10, 2024
Luke is one of only six musicians worldwide invited to perform at TonicCon, an exclusive international music event in Los Angeles. The event will be held today, October 10, 2024, and will be streamed live!
As the opening act, Luke is expected set a high standard for the night. His “amazing” audition video caught the attention of organizers, earning him a coveted spot alongside Ray Chen from Taiwan, one of the world’s leading violinists, with millions of fans and recently featured on the cover of The Strad magazine.
Luke’s musical journey is nothing short of inspiring. He first gained recognition as a member of the Next Generation String Quartet, founded in Jamaica in 2014 by Dr. Lisa Walker. Performing for celebrities like Titanic movie star Kate Winslet and winning competitions across the U.S., Luke quickly made his mark. He secured 3rd chair in the 2020 Florida All-State Honors Orchestra, comprising the state’s best young players, and went on to lead as Principal Cellist of the ISO 3rd Street Symphony in Manhattan, where a poster of him hangs today.
In 2023, Luke achieved a major milestone by performing with the world-renowned New York Philharmonic, and in 2024, his original composition, “Change”, earned him a permanent spot on the Wall of Fame at Interlochen Center for the Arts, where a very large print of him is on display. Luke was also one of only two students awarded a full merit scholarship at Berklee College of Music, covering 100% of his tuition, and was quickly offered a salaried position at the prestigious college. He also secured a seat in the Boston Civic Symphony and works as the Lead Instructor at City Strings United in Boston, earning US$50 per hour—an impressive start for a teenager!
From Jamaica to the world stage, Luke’s journey continues to inspire with every new achievement. Keep soaring, Luke!
